A man from Peekskill, New York, known by the pseudonym “Pompompurin,” has been apprehended by federal agents for allegedly operating the infamous hacking platform “BreachForums” that facilitated data breaches.

According to an FBI, Conor Brian Fitzpatrick was arrested at his residence on Wednesday at approximately 4:30 p.m. He faces a sole charge of conspiring to engage in access device fraud.

Amid the arrest of Pompompurin, another BreachForum’s admin “Baphomet” made a public announcement stating that they had removed an Pompompurin’s account access and restricted Pompompurin’s forum account’s administrator privileges.

I also since that point have been constantly monitoring everything and going through every log to see any access or modifications to Breached infra. So far nothing like that has been seen.

BreachForums has a similar design and structure to RaidForums, and it quickly gained popularity among its user base, which now exceeds 255,000 registered members. The forum is a thriving hub of discussions on hacking, cybercrime, and data breaches, and its users can exchange tools, exploits, vulnerabilities, phishing kits, and other related materials.

BreachForums primarily serves as a platform for trading compromised and leaked personally identifiable information (PII). This includes databases, documents, and accounts containing email addresses, domains, credit cards, and other sensitive information.
